The Aiguille du Midi in the Mont Blanc massif within the French Alps is a 3,842-metre-tall mountain and it was considered as the world’s highest cable car ride when it was launched in 1955.

A modern cable car decent in the popular tourist destination of Aiguille du Midi is ideal to discover the spectacular panoramic view of the Chamonix Valley along with the French, Swiss and Italian Alps. On a clear day, it is possible to capture the pyramid shaped Mattherhorn Mountain which is said to be the most-photographed mountain in the world.

Discover the well-known Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice) which is the largest glacier in France. This massive glacier is about 200m deep and extends for a length of 7km on the northern side of Mont Blanc near Chamonix and it is one of the biggest attractions in the Chamonix Valley. If you are interested and if it’s open (not guaranteed), you can go down the small man made gondola which is about 500 steps to visit the ice sculptures and caves, under the glacier.

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is an iconic destination, nestled among the massive peaks of the Alps. For the first ever Winter Olympics in 1924, Chamonix was chosen as its seminal site. Ever since that decision French village was gradually developed into an international tourism circuit with more than five million visitors every year. There are wonderful mountain views, white-water streams and a multitude of wild flowers to be explored in the supernatural village of the Chamonix Mont Blanc.
