Itinerary

Day 1 07:30 AM -13:30 PM

Meeting point and heading to Montreux

Bonjour! Welcome, a representative of Nomad-Voyages will meet and welcome you to the bus at Gare Cornavin Geneve and we will accompany you to Montreux.

Stop at Chateau de Chillon in Montreux and take some memorable photographs. The history of the castle is marked by three great periods: those of the Savoy family, the Bernese bailiffs and the Canton of Vaud. The rocky island on which the castle sits constituted both a form of natural protection and a strategic positioning to control passage from the north to the south of Europe. The castle took on the oval shape of the genuine island upon which it was built. It is approximately 100m long and 50m wide. It also took its name from the rock; the word ‘Chillon’ meant ‘rocky platform’ in an ancient language (Please note entry fee to Chateau is not included).

After the visit at Chateau de Chillon enjoy the beautiful sightseeing during the journey from Montreux to Gruyère. After  around 40 minutes we will arrive at La Maison du Gruyère (Gruyère cheese factory). We will guide you the most interesting moments of the production, it is the cutting the curd and the removing the cheese and filling it into the moulds.

Enjoy the lunch in a city of culinary delicious, with many traditional and cozy restaurant serving the traditional specialties of La Gruyère fondues, soup de chalet, macaroni d’alpage or the Bénichon menu. (If you are interested to eat outside of the castle restaurant Please inform beginning of the trip or when you are booking the trip).

Visit Gruyère lovely medieval town and Cailler chocolate factory

As you move up the hillside toward 800 year (13th Century) old Gruyeres and pass into its cobbled streets, you will be fascinated by the charm and picturesque architecture of the medieval town of Gruyére. The houses, the restaurants and all the streets have retained their original character, topped off with the Castle which sits at the top of the town.

Explore the Maison Cailler chocolate factory, La Chocolaterie Suisse is a wonderful place where visitors can experience with all their senses the secrets surrounding the origins and the manufacturing of chocolate.

One-hour fun and educational walk around the Cailler factory will take you back in time to the beginning of the 20th century, supported by the personalities who have marked the history of the factory. Ready for chocolate adventure through the scenic landscapes of the village of Broc in Gruyère. All travelers will be rewarded with a chocolate surprise in the factory.

After visiting the chocolate factory travel from Gruyère to Interlaken for the overnight stay

Day 2 07:30 AM – 13:30 PM

Explore the City of Interlaken

After the early breakfast explore the scenic city of  Interlaken. In the city of Interlaken Lake Thun is one of the crystal clear lakes surrounded by spectacular Bernese Oberland peaks. It occupies an area of 48.3 km² and it is the largest Swiss lake entirely within a single canton. During the trip explore the picturesque town of Thun with medieval castles, Thun Church and amazing views of the city of Spiez.

In the spectacular city of Interlaken, right by the Lake Thun, explore the St. Beatus Cave which consists of incredible stalactites and stalagmites (geological formations) that have been formed over millions of years ago. Walk through the well-designed paths and discover the cascading waterfalls which enhance the natural beauty of this impressive underground world. Visit the panaromic Sigriswil Bridge which is a 340m long suspension bridge between Sigriswil and Aeschlen. Take a walk along the bridge and enjoy the natural beauty of the Bernese Oberland peaks and the Lake Thun.

The lunch will be provided by the Nomad Voyages.

13:30 PM – 15:30 PM

Visit to the Alpine peaks in the Bernese Oberland region

Jungfraujoch is a UNESCO world heritage site located in the Bernese Oberland region. Enjoy the scenic Bernese Oberland peaks with a cog wheel train ride to the Europe’s highest railway station of Jungfraujoch which is 3,454 meters above the sea level. At the Sphinx Observation Terrace at Jungfraujoch you can experience the most spectacular snowcapped Alpine peaks which extend up to France and Italy.

The Schilthorn Mountain is a 2970m alpine peak located in the Bernese Oberland region. The summit of Schilthorn was featured in the world famous James Bond movie. With a cable car journey in the Schilthorn Mountain enjoy the panaromic views of Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger peaks and the sparkling blue Lake Thun. The journey includes a visit to the observation deck at Schilthorn Mountain where you can capture memorable pictures with the background of snow-dusted Jungfrau massif.

Depending on your preference we will accompany you to Jungfraujoch or Schiltron Mountain.

 

15:30 PM – 19:30 PM

Explore the scenic City of Grinderwald

After a 1 hour journey through the scenic Bernese Oberland region arrive at the scenic town of Grindelwald surrounded by soaring Bernese Oberland mountain peaks is considered as one of the most charming tourist attractions in Switzerland. Explore the glistening lakes, snow-capped Alpine peaks, lovely flower-covered treks, luxury hotels and fascinating Swiss architecture during this memorable journey.

After visiting Grinderwald, Nomad Voyages takes you to Interlaken and the journey will take around 30 minutes. Interlaken is a great Swiss shopping Destinations. There are plenty of Local shops and other stores where you can find precious jewels, Swiss watches, Swiss chocolate, souvenirs any many more.

After the shopping, overnight stay will be at Interlaken.

Day 3 07:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Visiting the attractions in Lucerne

After the early breakfast at Interlaken, Nomad Voyages accompany you to the scenic city of Lucerne. The trip will take around 1 hour and 15 minutes.

One major attraction in Lucerne is the Chapel Bridge which spans the River Reuss. The bridge was built in 1333 and is encrusted with an impressive cycle of paintings depicting events from Lucerne’s history, which are found in internal triangular frames throughout the bridge.

Another medieval landmark of Lucerne is the Musegg Wall and its nine towers, which were built in the 13th century. The massive wall spreads for a length of 830m and it contains an inner and an outer ring to protect the city from enemy attacks. It is considered as one of the longest, best-preserved defensive walls in Switzerland.

Also the rock relief of the famous Lion monument and the Museum of Art & History are spectacular locations to explore during this epic day tour.                

12:30 PM - 19:00 PM

Lunch followed by Journey at the Rigi Mountains

In the city of Lucerne it’s easy to find Swiss, French, Italian, European or Asian restaurants depending on your preferences. All food and drinks are at your own expense.

After the lunch Nomad voyages will guide you to the Rigi Mountains by boat. The Rigi Mountain which is enclosed by the Lakes of Lucerne, Zug and Lauerz allows visitors to explore the panoramic scenery of the Rigi Mountain by cogwheel trains as well as cable cars. During the 5 hour journey in the Rigi Mountain enjoy the spectacular views over the lake landscape, the panoramic Swiss Alps, traditional farms and colourful wildflower meadows.

The Itinerary for the 5 hour journey in the Rigi Mountains will be as follows;

  • 14:12PM – 15:10PM  : Departure by boat from Lucerne and arrival at Vitznau.
  • 15:15PM – 15:50PM  : Departure by rack railway from Vitznau and arrival at Rigi Kulm.
  • 15:50PM – 16:50PM : At the top of the Mountain Rigi Kulum enjoy the panaromic views and capture memorable photographs of snow capped Alps, the lowland lakes and the spectacular views of the cities of Lucerne and Zug.
  • 17:00PM – 17:15PM : Departure by rack railway from Rigi Kulm and arrival at Rigi Kaltbad.
  • 17:40PM – 17:50PM: Departure by cable car from Rigi Kaltbad and arrival at Weggis.
  • 18:05PM – 18:50PM : Departure by boat from Weggis and arrival at Lucerne.

Overnight stay will be at Lucerne.

Day 4 07:30 AM - 11:00 AM

From Lucerne to Liechtenstein

After the early breakfast Nomad Voyages accompany you to the scenic Liechtenstein. The trip will take around 2 hours.

Liechtenstein is a scenic micro state with an area of 160 square kilometres, located in the Alps between Austria and Switzerland. The Vaduz castle is one of the major attractions in Liechtenstein. It was constructed in the 12th Century and the walls have a thickness of 4 meters. The Princely family of Liechtenstein acquired Vaduz Castle in 1712 and it was used as the official residence until 1732. After that, the building became increasingly dilapidated and crumbling before being renovated between the periods of 1905 to 1912.

During the visit at Liechtenstein’s Capital City, Vaduz explore the Rathausplatz, home to the historic Town Hall (Rathaus), the Neo-Gothic parish church (Pfarrkirche) and other picturesque attractions.

11:00 AM - 17:30 PM

From Liechtenstein to Rhinfalls

The journey from Liechtenstein to Rhinfalls will take around 1 hour. After the arrival at Rhinfalls lunch will be taken at a nearby restaurant.

Rhinfalls is the largest waterfall in Europe and one of the major touristic attractions in Switzerland. The scenic waterfall is located on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich. Visitors can experience the amazing panaromic views of Rhinfalls where an average of 700’000 liters of water per second plunge across a width of 150 meters into the basin which is located 23 meters below. The highest flow ever recorded was 1,250,000 liters of water per second in the year 1965.

After the visit of Rhinfalls enjoy an epic walk through the old town, passing the fresco-covered houses and other medieval monuments. After a one hour journey from Rhinfalls arrive at Zurich for the overnight stay at Zurich.

Day 5 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Explore the City of Zurich

After the Breakfast Nomad Voyages accompany you in sightseeing of Zurich. Lake Zurich is a popular, crescent shaped glacial lake in the canton of Zurich. Forested mountain ranges, vineyards and orchards frame both sides of the Lake Zurich. There are several medieval cobblestone paths along the river bank for visitors to walk around the river and capture some memorable photographs.

Afterwards visit the Münsterhof  town square , which is the largest town square within the old town of Zürich. Close to the town square, Fromonster Church with stained glass windows, Grossmunster cathedral and other medieval architectural buildings can be explored during the tour.

After the Zurich City visit enjoy the beautiful sightseeing during the 1½ hour journey from Zurich to Bern. The lunch will be taken at Bern.

13:30 PM - 18:00 PM

Visit Bern, the Capital of Switzerland

To start  your Bern visit , head to one of Bern’s best viewpoints which let you take in the city’s picturesque river front. which is the Rosengarten park. Bear Pit for centuries the bear has been the symbol of Bern and appeared on its coat of arms. That relationship eventually led to the city keeping bears and establishing a city bear pit where locals and visitors could see them. In 1857 the Bärengraben, or Bear Pit, was moved to the banks of the Aare, Old Town is like with many European cities, the natural place to start in Bern is in its Old Town.

Recognized by UNESCO for its exceptional history, the Old Town has bits and pieces from different eras throughout the city’s history. Two features you’ll find quite a lot of as you explore the charming Old Town streets are arcades and fountains. The arcades, many of which date back to the 15 century, run down the sides of the city streets and house all sorts of shops and restaurants. As for the fountains. The  Zytglogge is a landmark medieval tower in Bern, Switzerland. Built in the early 13th century, it has served the city as guard tower, prison, clock tower, center of urban life and civic memorial. This is our last visit, the Parliament Building. Bern is the capital of Switzerland so it is home to the Bundeshaus, aka. the Federal Palace of Switzerland. Completed in 1902, on the riverside of the building sits the Bundesterrasse, a large terrace with views of the Aare River.

After exploring the Capital City of Switzerland we accompany you to Geneva. Enjoy the beautiful sightseeing of the scenic cities of Vaud and Lausanne during the journey to Geneva (Trip will take around 2 hours depending on the traffic conditions). Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Geneva.

Day 6 9:00 AM -12:30 PM

Explore the City of Geneva

After breakfast, Nomad Voyages will accompany you to the attractions of Geneva. The Jet d’Eau is a large fountain in Geneva, Switzerland and is one of the city’s most famous landmarks and Five hundred liters of water per second are jetted to an altitude of 140 meters by two 500 kW pumps, operating at 2,400 V and consuming one megawatt of electricity.

The flower clock was created in 1955 as a symbol of the city’s watchmakers, and a dedication to nature. outdoor beautiful flower clock located on the western side of English garden park in Geneva . Nomad-voyages takes you more place to visit Tavel house,Place du Bourg-de-Four is a city square in the Old Town of Geneva, St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva, ,was built as a Roman Catholic cathedral, but became a Reformed Protestant Church of Geneva church during the Reformation.

Lunch in Geneva

A walk through the old town under the old arcade and lunch at an outdoor restaurant. In the city of Geneva easily find Swiss, French, Italian, European or Asian restaurants depending on your preferences. All food and drinks are at your own expense.

13:30 PM - 16:00 PM

Broken chair and UN International quarters visit

Broken Chair is an original project of Paul Vermeulan, co-founder and director of Handicap International Switzerland. This handicap chair is a monumental sculpture in wood designed by Swiss artist Daniel Berset, and constructed by carpenter Louis Genève. It is constructed of 5.5 tons of wood and is 12 meters high.
